Job summary

Arning Companies in Cassville, MO is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our metal fabrication team in-office. You will use a variety of software to develop bids and proposals while coordinating with engineering, project management, and vendors to ensure accurate, competitive estimates.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of estimating, cost control, and/or project experience in metal fabrication.
• Working knowledge of steel construction.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong math skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specifications, proposals, schedules, and other documentation to determine material, labor, and finishing requirements.
• Source and price materials needed to prepare estimates.
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management decision-making, including bid preparation, vendor/subcontractor selection, and cost-effectiveness analysis.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss, formulate, and resolve issues related to estimates.
• Prepare detailed proposals, including schedule, payment terms, and terms & conditions.
• Prepare estimate summaries and project data sheets, ensuring all documentation is properly distributed.
• Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data, or to identify cost reduction opportunities.

About the Role

Arning Companies is looking for a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in Cassville, MO. This is an in-office position supporting our metal fabrication operations. The Estimator will utilize a variety of computer software applications to develop bids and proposals, working closely with engineering, project management, and vendors to ensure accurate, competitive, and well-documented estimates.

Required Qualifications

• 1–3 years of previous estimating, cost control, and/or project experience in metal fabrication
• Working knowledge of steel construction
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong math skills

• Detail-oriented with consistent follow-up habits
