Job summary

Renewyx LLC in California seeks an experienced estimator for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. You will own EPC estimates using Accubid and Bluebeam, perform precise take-offs, and defend bids in competitive markets.

Read architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings; apply NEC knowledge; and collaborate with PMs, engineers, and clients to turn estimates into successful projects. Mentor junior estimators and uphold engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in utility-scale solar or BESS estimation.
• Proficient with Accubid and Bluebeam.
• Ability to read architectural, civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of NEC and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop rock-solid EPC estimates using Accubid and Bluebeam. No shortcuts, no excuses for errors.
• Dig into multi-trade drawings and pull accurate take-offs that hold up under scrutiny.
• Build competitive bids by analyzing labor rates, vendor quotes, and regional costs. Then defend them.
• Walk job sites and spot discrepancies before they become problems.
• Partner with PMs, engineers, and clients to turn your estimates into successful projects.
• Mentor the next generation of estimators. Your standards set the bar.

YOU'RE THE RIGHT FIT IF

You've spent 2+ years in utility-scale solar and/or BESS estimation and you know your chops. You live in Accubid and Bluebeam. You can read architectural, civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings in your sleep.

You understand NEC inside and out, and you respect building codes because they exist for a reason. You know how Fixed Price, Time & Materials, and Cost Plus contracts work. And you know why precision matters in each one.

You take ownership. Your estimates are your reputation. You catch errors before they become problems, you ask tough questions, and you stand behind your numbers. Excel doesn't intimidate you. You've probably written formulas that other estimators envy.

You communicate clearly. You can explain a complex estimate to a client, defend your methodology to a PM, and mentor a junior estimator without talking down to them.
