Job summary

Welch Packaging Group is seeking an estimator to generate accurate costing files for pricing customer items. You will gather information from Sales, coordinate with Production, Design and Purchasing to ensure runability and costing accuracy.

You will also enter external costs, build pricing matrices, and deliver complete pricing information. The role includes training new associates and maintaining cost accuracy across estimates.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Proficient with Amtech operating system.
• Experience with Artios Viewer or similar software.
• Strong communication, organization and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Pursue all necessary information from sales needed to create a complete estimate file.
• Consult with internal production, design and purchasing staff to ensure run ability and accurate costing.
• Enter outside cost items into the estimate files and build pricing matrix.
• Deliver complete information for pricing and update files as needed.
• Train and develop new associates and maintain pricing accuracy.
• Determine plant routings, adders, product codes and GL codes for estimates.
• Coordinate farm outs and handle pricing (RSC and die cut) within guidelines.

Description

SUMMARY

Provides accurate & timely costing files for pricing items to customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pursue all necessary information from sales needed to create a complete estimate file


• When necessary consult, with internal production, design and purchasing staff to ensure run ability and accurate costing.


• Request pricing for, and enter outside cost items into the estimate files.


• Build pricing matrix in spec or inventory item.


• Deliver complete information for pricing


• Train and develop new associates


• Accurately determine plant routings and cost adders.


• Change requests, update and maintain files


• Build product structures.


• Determine correct GL code to be used in vendor record


• Determine correct product code to be used in estimate.


• Determine all adders needed to produce item.


• Determine unitizing


• Enter production and purchasing notes in message screen of spec.


• Coordinates farm outs


• Some Pricing (simple RSC and Die cut within set guidelines)

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience

• Functioning user of Amtech operating system.


• Ability to use email communication.


• Experience with Artios Viewer or similar


• Good communication skills, organized, detail oriented, positive attitude, optimistic.
