Job summary

Destructable is seeking an experienced estimator to support wind turbine decommissioning projects. You will develop detailed cost estimates covering labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and disposal.

You will review plans to identify scope, risks, and opportunities, and gather vendor quotes to ensure accurate pricing. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and field teams to ensure estimates align with execution, track cost data, and support proposals and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years estimating experience in construction, demolition, recycling, or renewable energy.
• Knowledge of decommissioning means, methods, equipment, and materials.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and waste disposal practices.
• Proficient in estimating software and MS Office.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure accurate pricing.
• Prepare bid proposals, cost summaries, and project schedules for client submissions.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and field teams to ensure alignment between estimates and project execution.
• Track historical data on costs and productivity to improve future estimates.
• Support business development by providing input during proposal strategy and client meetings.
• Assist in post-bid reviews, change orders, and cost tracking during project execution.
• Stay up to date on industry best practices, recycling technologies, and regulatory requirements related to wind energy decommissioning.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of estimating experience in construction, demolition, recycling, or renewable energy sectors; experience in wind decommissioning is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, equipment, and materials relevant to decommissioning and recycling.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations, waste disposal, and recycling practices.
• Proficient in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
