Job summary

Civil West, part of the PCL Family of Companies, seeks an Estimating Student in Phoenix, Arizona to work with an experienced team on opportunities, develop cost estimates, and influence pursuit success for community-building projects.

You will review quantities, assist with bid day tasks, and interface with subcontractors while using in-house tools and supporting a strong, inclusive team culture.

Qualifications

• Desire a career in construction Project Management, Field Supervision, or Estimating.
• Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, Excel, Word, Revit, Acrobat or similar software.
• Effective verbal and written communication with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and owners.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, and perform quantity takeoffs.
• Must be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not provided.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Available to work in Los Angeles, CA full time from May to August.
• Employment contingent on passing a substance abuse test.

• Performs bid day assignments
• Sub-trade bid reviews and recapping
• Visits job sites periodically
• Use of in-house estimating software (BEST Estimating)
• Develops relationships with subcontractors

• 18 years of age or older
• Available to work in Los Angeles, CAfull time from May to August
