Job summary

FolderWorks, a division of Taylor Corporation, is seeking an Estimating Representative to join our team in North Mankato, MN. You will be responsible for the quick and efficient processing of quotes for products and maintaining a balance between company profitability and the ability to secure the order.

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $16-$18. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1+ year related experience.
• Advanced understanding of the print process.
• Knowledge of computerized estimating systems.
• Strong math skills for measurements and graphs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to quote requests from the sales group and customers directly.
• Review and prepare responses to RFPs and large direct opportunities by gathering details and data for production cost according to specifications.
• Understand the cost pricing structure; factors such as material cost, spoilage and make ready.
• Work with CSR's, AM's and Sales Reps to understand customer requirements and provide exceptional service.
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing resources to identify the most efficient production process.
• Estimate job costs and apply the appropriate markup if required.
• Quote alternative materials as needed to meet requirements and secure the order.
• Strive to improve processes and cost efficiencies.

Your Opportunity:

FolderWorks, a division of Taylor Corporation, is seeking an Estimating Representative to join our team in North Mankato, MN! In this role, you will be responsible for the quick and efficient processing of quotes for products and maintaining a balance between company profitability and the ability to secure the order.

Work Authorization:

To be considered for the Taylor opportunities, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Your shift:

1st shift; Monday - Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm

This role be based at our Navitor facility - 1625 Roe Crest Drive, North Mankato, MN 56003

Your Responsibilities:

• Receive and respond to quote requests from the sales group and customers directly
• Review and prepare responses to RFP's and large direct opportunities by gathering details and compiling data for all production cost according to specifications
• Understand the "cost" pricing structure; factors such as material cost, spoilage and make ready
• Work with CSR's, AM's and Sales Reps to understand customer requirements and provide exceptional service
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing resources as need to identify most efficient production process
• Estimate job costs and apply the appropriate markup if required
• Quote alternative materials as needed to meet requirements and secure the order
• Strive to improve processes and cost efficiencies

You Must Have:

• High School diploma or equivalent, with 1+ years of related experience
• Advanced understanding of the print process
• Knowledge and the ability to use computerized estimating systems
• Ability to effectively respond to questions from management, customers, sales representatives, and employees
• Strong math skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratios, percent and draw and interpret graphs
• Ability to communicate both written and verbally
• Ability to work well under pressure; work with diverse personalities and deal effective with conflict
• Strong work ethic, dependable, accountable, and displays a sense of urgency
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook system to include calendar, e-mail, task list, etc.; excellent computer (Microsoft Office Suite) and data entry skills
• Proficient in Excel with the ability to create spreadsheets with simple formulas
• Excellent problem solving (think outside the box), follow-up, decision making, and organizational skills
• Attention to detail with minimal errors
• Ability to work well as a member of a team

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $16-$18. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
