LF Driscoll, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking an Estimating Manager in New York City, NY. The role involves developing, creating and preparing construction cost estimates for healthcare-focused projects in early stages of development, and providing updated cost information throughout the project lifecycle. The manager will also build and lead a team of estimators.

Duties

• Ensures that “Constructing with Integrity” is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Provides leadership for estimating and planning support personnel.
• Monitors project budgeting and buy‑out processes to ensure reliable information is available for estimates.
• Facilitates communication of cost history to enable ongoing evaluation of pricing information for better cost modelling and estimating.
• Monitors planning support processes to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
• Interfaces with marketing to consider all relevant information, issues, and brand name recognition.
• Assists in the evaluation, planning and execution of new scope of services and profit centers.
• Monitors productivity and cost control on healthcare projects.
• Attends project review meetings and facilitates solutions to budget problems as required.
• Plans and implements training for healthcare estimators.
• Identifies and procures profitable projects by overseeing all business development activities, including customer relationships, networking, performing public relations activities, maintaining client database and executing client matrices.
• Oversees all sales activities, including identifying and pre‑qualifying leads, working on procurement strategies, developing proposals, responding to RFQ, SOQ and RFP.
• Establishes goals, procedures, systems and tools used to accomplish estimating tasks.
• Commits the company to the project procurement process with respect to healthcare projects.
• Oversees the supervising of estimating activities and personnel, taking on the successes and failures of the team.
• Works with Business Unit Executives, Estimating and Planning Support Personnel, and clients.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare construction.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and/or the general public.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Prioritizes, organizes and delegates assignments.
• Experience with CMiC preferred.
• Knowledge of estimating software preferred.

Salary

$190,000 – $240,000
