Job summary

Leopardo Construction invites applicants for a summer 2027 Estimating Internship in our Illinois office. The role focuses on supporting the estimating team with quantity take-offs, bid analysis, and subcontractor outreach.

You will participate in Leopardo’s intern training program spanning operations, administration, and sales/marketing activities, while gaining hands-on site exposure and learning best practices in construction estimation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field.
• Basic understanding of estimating processes and procurement.
• Familiarity with bid documents and subcontractor selection is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents to create quantity take-offs; develop RFIs as required.
• Participate in jobsite walkthroughs to verify actual field conditions.
• Develop a list of qualified subcontract bidders using Building Connected to attain the per trade requirements.
• Receive and analyze Subcontractor bids as they relate to drawings, specifications and scope of work using bid day form.

Leopardo is looking for individuals passionate about construction, to join our team for summer 2027. This internship will be focused in the estimating department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

Assist and support Estimating in planning, directing and coordinating designated project activities to ensure all goals and objectives are met. The Estimating Intern will participate in Leopardo’s intern training program, which encompasses operational, administrative, and sales and marketing activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Review bid documents to create quantity take-offs; develop RFI’s as required.
• Participate in jobsite walkthroughs to verify actual field conditions.
