Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking an Estimating Intern for Summer 2027 in the Seattle district, Bellevue, WA.

This internship offers hands-on experience on real projects, mentorship, and exposure to estimating processes within the US Buildings sector. As an enrolled student in construction-related fields, you will learn to work with estimating manuals, participate in bid day tasks, visit job sites, and build relationships with subcontractors while supporting the Chief Estimator.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree relevant to the construction industry such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, etc.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• 18 years of age or older
• Possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to travel to and from the office
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Understands and utilizes PCL's estimating manuals, systems and forms
• Reviews quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
• Performs assigned quantity survey
• Gives quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing
• Performs bid day assignments
• Visits job sites periodically
• Develops relationships with subcontractors
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator
