Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in CM, CE, or related field.
• Foundational understanding of construction processes, materials, and terminology.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and technical docs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost tracking and analysis.
• Familiarity with basic estimating tools is a plus (e.g., Bluebeam, OST).
• Experience organizing bid docs, cost databases, and takeoff files preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity take-offs, unit pricing, and cost comparisons; document assumptions and qualifications.
• Manage subcontractor lists and contacts; research products and suppliers; maintain estimating records.
• Conduct site visits to collect data (access, topography, utilities) and analyze historic cost data.
• Prepare and reconcile cost estimates against prior projects and monitor actual vs. estimated expenditures.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process.
• Support bid development by preparing expenditure statements and tender documentation; participate in reviews.
• Identify risks or variances using cost-monitoring systems; contribute to negotiations and decisions.
• Maintain updates in estimating databases and project files for smooth workflows.
