Job summary

Royal Electric invites applications for an Estimating Intern in our Dallas office for Summer 2027. You will work with the Estimating team to read plans, perform quantity takeoffs, build BOMs, and assist bid progression. This desk-based role emphasizes accuracy, Excel proficiency, and collaboration with subcontractors and vendors.

No fieldwork required; growth through hands-on learning. Currently pursuing Construction Management or Engineering or a related field; familiarity with Bluebeam or Live

Qualifications

• Pursuing higher education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Estimating team to create a single good estimate.
• Preferred: Experience in Bluebeam or Live Count, knowledge of Electrical/Low-Voltage scope.

Responsibilities

• Reading plans and performing quantity takeoffs.
• Sub-contractor and vendor outreach.
• Review technical specifications for project requirements.
• Build a bill of materials for vendor quotes.
• Coordinate with lead estimator about bid progression for timely takeoffs, quotes, and BOMs.
• Learn the Estimating lifecycle from experienced estimators.
• Collaborate effectively within team environments.
• Desk-based role with no fieldwork requirements.
