Job summary

Professional Search Group is seeking an Estimator/Engineer to join a Southern California manufacturing team. The role focuses on developing cost estimates for spring manufacturing, metal stamping, and tube forming, collaborating with engineering, production and sales to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

Relocation assistance may be available. Ideal candidates hold a BS in engineering, 5+ years in estimation or engineering, and strong CAD/estimation tool proficiency, with solid cost

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of estimation or engineering experience in spring manufacturing, metal stamping, or tube forming.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and estimation tools; strong cost analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for manufacturing projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather information for costing, part planning, and project execution.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, overhead, and production costs using estimation tools and software.
  • Review supplier quotes and assist in negotiating pricing for raw materials and components.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate project viability.
  • Update estimates based on changes in scope, materials, or design.
  • Support the preparation of bid proposals and contract documentation.
  • Monitor project progress and provide updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and manufacturing best practices.

Overview

Professional Search Group is partnering on a search for a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator/Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and manufacturing processes, particularly in spring manufacturing, metal stamping, and tube forming. This role is responsible for evaluating project specifications, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for manufacturing projects.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimation or engineering within spring manufacturing, metal stamping, or tube forming.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and estimation tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and financial analysis.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident to comply with ITAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with software such as Advanced Spring Design, SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
