Reports to: Vice President of Preconstruction

Well-established General Contractor is seeking an Estimating Engineer to support preconstruction efforts on commercial and industrial construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing cost estimates, coordinating with project teams, and supporting subcontractor and vendor engagement throughout the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage subcontractor solicitation lists and support bid outreach efforts
• Engage subcontractors and suppliers to generate competitive pricing
• Distribute bidding documents and relevant project information
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis for assigned scopes
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals for accuracy and completeness
• Support coordination with project management for material procurement and subcontractor selection
• Maintain and develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for future opportunitie
• Track and update subcontractor/vendor databases and bid lists
• Identify and communicate any risks, gaps, or unusual conditions during the estimating process
• Utilize estimating and construction software tools effectively

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Interest or experience in industrial or commercial construction estimating
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam (or similar software)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
