Job summary

P&E Constructors, an ESOP-owned mechanical and electrical construction firm, seeks an Estimating Manager to lead the Estimating Department and drive accurate, competitive bids. You will set estimating processes, guide Leads on RFPs, and partner with project teams and leadership to ensure quality estimates across frontend pursuits.

The role requires extensive experience in Design-Build, EPC, Lump Sum, and Conceptual estimates, with a focus on constructability and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 15+ years of project estimating experience, preferably supporting large projects.
• 5+ years of experience managing an estimating team (12–20 personnel).
• Experience across multiple contracting/delivery methods including Design-Build, EPC, Lump Sum, Time & Material, Unit Rate, and Conceptual.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Estimating Department, including people, processes, resources, tools, and overall department performance.
• Assign estimating resources based on project requirements, workload, expertise, and pursuit priorities.
• Develop, maintain, and improve estimating tools, templates, historical cost data, productivity benchmarks, and best practices.
• Provide guidance to Estimating Leads on RFP requirements, scopes of work, project requirements, client requirements, and bid requirements.
• Review and approve estimate approaches, methodologies, and estimate plans to ensure consistent and effective estimating practices.
