Active Dermatology is a boutique dermatology practice in New York City offering medical, cosmetic, and esthetic skin care in a personalized, elevated environment.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated Licensed Esthetician with an established clientele to join our practice and help grow our esthetics division. This is a commission-based position with a 60/40 revenue split—60% to Active Dermatology and 40% to the Esthetician.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional esthetics experience.
• Current and unrestricted New York State Esthetics License.
• Established clientele with ability to bring clients into the practice.

Responsibilities

• Performing customized facials and advanced esthetic treatments.

The Esthetician will provide customized facial and skin treatments while developing and maintaining a strong book of business within Active Dermatology.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing customized facials and advanced esthetic treatments
• Performing chemical peels and other treatments permitted within the scope of New York State esthetic licensure
• Conducting thorough skin consultations
• Developing individualized treatment and maintenance plans
• Recommending appropriate professional skin care products and home-care regimens
• Educating clients about skin health and treatment expectations
• Building long-term client relationships through excellent service and follow-up
• Consistently rebooking clients and maintaining a productive treatment schedule
• Actively bringing, maintaining, and growing your own clientele
• Introducing appropriate esthetic services to Active Dermatology patients
• Meeting established weekly and monthly service revenue goals
• Meeting retail sales and rebooking expectations
• Participating in practice promotions, events, marketing initiatives, and social media content when appropriate
• Maintaining accurate documentation, treatment-room organization, sanitation, and exceptional patient-care standards

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of professional esthetics experience
• Current and unrestricted New York State Esthetics License
• An established clientele with the ability to bring clients into the practice

• Proven ability to meet service and retail sales goals
• Strong rebooking and client-retention skills
• Excellent consultation and communication skills
• Confidence recommending appropriate professional skin care products
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Professional, polished, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working toward defined weekly revenue expectations

Preferred Experience

Experience in a dermatology practice, medical spa, cosmetic dermatology office, or luxury skin care environment is strongly preferred.

• Acne and acne-prone skin
• Hyperpigmentation
• Skin of color

• Chemical peels
• Advanced facial treatments
• Pre- and post-procedure skin care

Compensation

This is a commission-based position with a 60/40 revenue split: 60% to Active Dermatology and 40% to the Esthetician. There is no fixed hourly compensation.

The compensation model is designed for an experienced esthetician who is confident in their ability to maintain and grow a productive book of business.

Specific service, retail, rebooking, and revenue expectations will be discussed during the interview process and incorporated into performance goals.
