Job summary

Koley Jessen P.C., L.L.O. is seeking an Estate and Trust Planning and Administration Paralegal to assist attorneys and clients with implementing and funding estate plans, and with settling estates.

This role offers access to large-firm resources while providing opportunities to grow through sophisticated, challenging work. The position focuses on coordinating asset transfers, preparing pleadings, and supporting senior colleagues in tax and trust administration tasks within a collaborative team

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of paralegal experience in estate/trust planning and administration
• Experience preparing probate administration documents and related pleadings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Excellent time management abilities and proactive management of deadlines
• Keen attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising attorneys in preparing estate planning documents and property schedules
• Coordinate asset transfers involving financial accounts, business interests and real estate, and prepare transfer documentation
• Prepare court pleadings for probates, Nebraska inheritance tax proceedings, and guardianship/conservatorship proceedings
• Gather, analyze, reconcile, and document information on asset value, title, debts and expenses
• Communicate with clients, executors, trustees, beneficiaries and court personnel
• Prepare initial drafts of Federal estate tax returns, Federal gift tax returns, and Nebraska Inheritance Tax Worksheets for review by senior staff
