Job summary

An established Chicago law firm is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to guide individuals, families, and business owners on sophisticated estate planning, trust administration, and wealth-transfer matters.

You will develop comprehensive plans, draft wills and trusts, and provide strategic advice on asset protection and tax planning, while building long-term client relationships and serving high-net-worth clients.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Experience with trust and estate administration.
• Strong legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent client communication and relationship-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
• Experience with asset protection, business planning, business succession, or tax planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive estate plans for individuals and families.
• Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate-planning documents.
• Advise clients on wealth transfer, asset protection, and tax-planning strategies.
• Handle trust and estate administration matters.
• Assist with business succession and business-planning matters.
• Counsel business owners and high-net-worth clients on estate and succession planning.
• Collaborate with accountants, financial advisors, and other professional advisors.
• Manage client relationships and provide practical, personalized legal guidance.
• Handle matters independently while collaborating with attorneys across the firm when appropriate.
