Job summary

Plymouth Rock Assurance is seeking an Auto Damage Appraiser to prepare estimates for first- and third-party claims in Essex County, MA. The role emphasizes accurate damage assessments, negotiation with adjusters and body shops, and adherence to MA Fair Claims Practices.

You must have an Auto Damage Appraiser license, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. The position offers a competitive salary range and benefits, with opportunities to grow within our

Qualifications

• Must have Essex County, MA assigned territory.
• Must have a valid Auto Damage Appraiser License.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
• 1–3 years of auto claims insurance carrier appraisal experience.
• Able to work outside in inclement weather and drive longer distances.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; body shop experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Survey damages, prepare estimates and negotiate settlements for partial or total losses.
• Issue drafts to the appropriate parties.
• Document the claim file as necessary.
• Complete re-inspections and supplements in a timely manner per state regulations.
• Liaison to Body Shops in the GRP network.
• Comply with production standards and estimating guidelines.
• Maintain service, expense control and public relations.
• Complete reports on recovered theft and fire assignments.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Adhere to MA Fair Claims Practices Act.
