Job summary

Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. is seeking an Essential Piece Enterprises Program Manager to direct workforce training at the Essential Piece Enterprises center.

You will oversee four community-facing businesses, supervise Job Coaches, and coordinate VR/DDD-supported programs for neurodiverse young adults and interns. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, at least 3 years in transition/workforce programming, and strong leadership to drive program goals, budgets, and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in transition and/or workforce programming for older students and adults with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Experience with ABA is preferred.
• Ability to communicate courteously and professionally with parents, co-workers, and professional contacts.
• Ability to oversee program staff and manage multiple tasks with good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor participant progress from intake through assessment, planning, employment services, job placement, and closure.
• Promote strengths-based approaches respecting participant choice and goals.
• Develop and monitor program goals, budgets, staffing plans, and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Communicate with clients and guardians about program goals for students and clients.
• Review program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure documentation, case records, reporting, and data management are complete and accurate.
• Ensure services comply with federal and Arizona vocational rehabilitation requirements and internal policies.
• Oversee and ensure program fidelity of Job Coaches across facilities and studios.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate program staff.
• Collaborate to ensure VR/DDD regulatory compliance and program funding requirements.
• Coordinate with employers and community partners to deliver internships and opportunities.

Essential Piece Enterprises Program Manager

Arizona Autism Charter Schools (AZACS) is growing, and we invite you to apply to be part of our award-winning team! AZACS was awarded the 2023/2024 National Title I Distinguished School Award for Arizona and the 2022 YASS Prize for education innovation. Under the Sr. Director of Wraparound Service’s direction, Essential Piece Enterprises Program Manager will direct and oversee programming at AZACS's workforce training center, Essential Piece Enterprises, supporting Workforce Development for neurodiverse young adults. This training center includes four community-facing businesses, an active cafe, a shirt branding studio, a shipping/receiving store, and a tech studio in development. The Essential Piece Enterprises Program Manager will oversee Job Coaches supporting student interns and adult clients engaging in internships in the four businesses and external internships. This role will also direct and oversee VR, Pre-ETS, Private Pay, ESA, DDD-funded adult programming such as Work Adjustment Training Adult, Career Exploration, and Adult Day Services.

Duties

• Monitor participant progress from intake and eligibility through assessment, individualized planning, employment services, job placement, and successful case closure.
• Promote individualized, strengths-based approaches that respect participant choice, self-determination, and employment goals.
• Develop and monitor program goals, performance measures, budgets, staffing plans, and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Communicate with clients and guardians regarding the program and the goals for their students and clients.
• Review program data and identify trends, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation, case records, reporting, and data management.
• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with applicable federal and Arizona vocational rehabilitation requirements, organizational policies, and established standards of care.
• Oversee and ensure program fidelity of Job Coaches supporting students in the Essential Piece Cafe, Shirt Branding Studio, Shipping/Receiving Center, and Tech Studio.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate program staff.
• Collaborate with the Compliance Director to ensure program compliance with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) and Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) regulations.
• Collaborate with the team to implement programs such as Adult Supported Employment, Adult Day Programming, and Voc Rehab programs.
• Collaborate with the Phoenix Main Campus to support high school students engaging in internal internships with the Essential Piece Enterprises businesses.
• Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Wraparound Services to train and oversee staff in the EPE program.
• In collaboration with the Director of Compliance, provide data as needed for the Division of Developmental Disability (DDD), Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) and other funding sources.
• In collaboration with the Sr. Director of Wraparound Services and Compliance Director, consult and train staff for any clients needing support applying to jobs, colleges, etc.
• Coordinate services with employers, workforce development organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers, disability service organizations, and other community partners.
• Prepare program reports, presentations, and recommendations for CSP meetings.
• Ensure appropriate stewardship of program resources and compliance with applicable funding requirements.
• Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Consistent and regular attendance is essential in this leadership role.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Oversee workforce programming for high school interns and adult clients. The Program Manager for Essential Piece Enterprises will coach, monitor, and mentor program staff working with students and adults with disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in transition and/or workforce programming for older students and adults with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance.
• Ability to communicate courteously and professionally with parents, co-workers, and professional contacts following AZACS guidelines.
• Track record of leadership and ability to work independently to coordinate multiple tasks.
• Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience in structured teaching, center-based model preferred.
• Experience with ABA preferred.
