Job description

Under the supervision and direction of the Senior Director of ABA & Data, the Director of ABA Services at Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. (AZACS) provides leadership and oversight of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services across the organization. This role is responsible for supporting Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), ensuring fidelity of evidence-based ABA practices, and supporting the implementation of behavioral programming aligned with students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

The Director of ABA Services’ primary responsibility is to strengthen and support the delivery of ABA services within AZACS schools by providing direct leadership, supervision, coaching, and technical assistance to campus BCBAs and other assigned ABA staff. The Director works closely with campus and instructional leadership to ensure evidence-based ABA practices are implemented consistently, ethically, and with fidelity to support students' positive educational and behavioral outcomes.

As a secondary responsibility, the Director of ABA Services supports the Senior Director of ABA & Data in collecting, interpreting, and using school-based behavioral and programmatic data. This includes supporting consistent campus data-collection practices, reviewing behavioral and skill-acquisition data, assisting with progress monitoring and outcome evaluation, and supporting district-level analysis and reporting led by the Senior Director of ABA & Data.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct supervision, leadership, and professional guidance to Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and assigned ABA leadership staff; oversees behavioral practice, performance expectations, professional development, and fidelity of ABA implementation in alignment with organizational goals and data-driven outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Senior Director of ABA & Data with school-based data collection, progress monitoring, analysis, and reporting by ensuring campus data is accurate and consistently collected.
  • Elevate organization-wide ABA needs, trends, implementation concerns, and recommended improvements to the Senior Director of ABA & Data.
  • Train, coach, and support campus BCBAs in establishing effective data-collection processes and using data to evaluate student progress and adjust programming.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support of BCBAs across all AZACS Campuses
  • Attend, develop, schedule, and deliver professional development for BCBAs and ABA staff focused on evidence-based practices
  • Provide direct leadership and support to campus BCBAs in developing resources, materials, interventions, and programming responsive to individual student needs
  • Support ABA staff in assessment review, intervention planning, and program adjustments based on student data
  • Participate in problem-solving team meetings, leadership meetings, and other committees as assigned
  • Support onboarding, mentoring, and professional growth of BCBA staff
  • Ensure ethical standards and professional guidelines are upheld across ABA services
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support student achievement and organizational priorities
  • Travel to all AZACS campuses (Mesa, Phoenix, Peoria, Tucson, etc.) to conduct observations and meet with teams

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Light Work:

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force. At times, employees may, with assistance, lift and/or move up to an individual student’s body weight. The employee will frequently need to get on the floor and physically intervene using CPI techniques with students for short durations on a regular basis and occasionally for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment or an outdoor school playground.
