Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking an Esports Assistant Director to lead and grow non-credited recreational gaming programs for a diverse campus community. You will design curricula, camps, and events, and oversee Triton Esports Centers operations to promote skill development and youth engagement.

Collaborating with staff and student organizations, you will implement policies, train teams, coordinate events, and ensure safe, engaging experiences across campus gaming activities and competitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience.
• Client service focus with entrepreneurial and creative thinking.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication; marketing and PR skills.
• Proficiency with common computer apps and gaming platforms.
• Ability to develop ideas, problem-solve, and manage programs.
• Leadership and collaboration across departments and external partners.
• Ability to manage youth programs, camps and events with safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver esports programs, curricula, camps and events.
• Oversee daily operations of Triton Esports Centers.
• Train staff; recruit and supervise Esports student and non-student staff.
• Coordinate tests on internet infrastructure with ITS.
• Coordinate equipment receiving, moving and setup for facilities.
• Manage program entries via Fusion and supervise engagement areas.
