Job summary

The University of Silicon Valley in San Jose, CA seeks a part-time Esports Coordinator to support the Head Esports Coach in growing the program. You will coordinate esports operations, assist with team activities, and liaise with Admissions and other departments to strengthen recruitment pipelines and student engagement.

Responsibilities include developing game strategies, coaching student-athletes, conducting video analysis, scheduling practices, and reporting to the Head Coach.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher preferred; or equivalent education and experience.
  • One-year competitive Esports experience preferred.
  • Experience in one title required; experience in more than one title preferred.

  • Instruct, teach, and coach student-athletes during practice.

  • Represents USV at meetings relating specifically to esports.
  • Mentor the individual student athletes and nurture the esports program.
  • Provides reports and documentation as required by the Head Coach.
  • Conducts events, training, or competition as required by leadership.
  • Other duties and related projects as assigned, including admissions and enrollment tasks.

SUMMARY

This role supports the Head Esports Coach in driving the growth, success, and retention of esports student-athletes. The position works collaboratively with the Esports, Marketing, and Admissions teams to strengthen recruitment pipelines, enhance student engagement, and ensure a high-quality program experience.

Day-to-day responsibilities focus on coordinating esports operations, supporting team activities, and serving as a liaison between the program and both internal and external departments. Supplemental coaching duties and additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support overall program objectives.
