Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction seeks an Exceptional Students Population (ESP/EC) teacher at Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, NC. Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in teaching and valid NC teaching license in EC or General Curriculum with EC endorsement.
• License must be current and in good standing per NC rules.
• Experience delivering instruction to diverse learners and at-risk students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver English/ELA, reading, and math instruction to offenders aged 18–22 pursuing high school equivalency.
• Provide direct group and individual instruction using evidence-based practices.
• Establish and enforce classroom management aligned with school-wide behavior plans.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student learning and transitions.
