Job summary

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science or an MLS and may require MLS certification. ASCP/AMT certification is a plus, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or MLS degree.
• One year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and computers.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical testing decisions.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
