ESOP Compliance Attorney (Employee Benefits) – Flexible Location

A leading AmLaw 200 law firm is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Attorney with a focus on ESOP compliance. This position is open to multiple offices across the Eastern U.S. and Texas, including Atlanta, Birmingham, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Grand Rapids, Lansing, New York, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Princeton, and Washington, D.C.

Key Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in employee benefits law

Expertise in Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs)

Experience advising benefit plan sponsors on ERISA and IRS compliance for 401(k) plans and ESOPs

Skilled in negotiating and drafting executive employment agreements and incentive plans

Familiarity with employee benefits issues in M&A transactions

Ability to review M&A agreements for ERISA compliance

Proficiency in advising on Internal Revenue Code Sections 280G and 409A

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a team environment

Salary range: $225,000 - $350,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

Annual discretionary bonus eligibility
