Job summary

Craven County Schools is seeking a Tutor-ESOL at Oaks Road Academy in New Bern, NC. The role supports ESOL instruction and collaborates with teachers to boost EL student achievement. Requires NC teaching license and a bachelor’s degree or higher, plus three years of classroom teaching experience. Position is full-time and pay is hourly up to $25.

Responsibilities include one-on-one and small-group support, data-informed instruction, and maintaining confidentiality of student information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Three years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Licensed as a teacher in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Support ESOL teacher and assist with instruction of EL identified students.
• Assist English Language Identified children, aged kindergarten through high school in development of reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as academic vocabulary.
• Engage in academic activities with select students in one-on-one or small group.
• Utilize assessment information before, during, and after instruction to guide instructional design.
• Assist in analyzing data relative to the impact on activities and student achievement.
• Maintain confidentiality of data and information.
