Young World Physical Education is seeking an ESOL Teacher in Havelock, North Carolina to support and teach English Learners. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and appropriate licensure. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing educational programs for English learners, ensuring effective communication between students and families, and maintaining classroom standards.

ESOL Teacher (English to Speakers of Other Languages)
Position: ESOL Teacher
Reports to: Director of Student Programming Coordinator; Director of Federal Programs
Term of Employment: 10 months
Pay Grade: NC State Salary Schedule (commensurate with experience), plus local supplement
FLSA Status: Exempt
Under general supervision, supports and teaches English Learner students, including their identification, screening and assessment. The employee is required to plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments that reinforce speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as the development of academic vocabulary that contributes to student educational and social development. The employee also assists other staff members in understanding EL needs and creates a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student’s ability.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
Must hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License with certification in ESL (English as a Second Language).
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees in this job must be energetic and flexible and possess the visual ability to prepare data, work with records and processes, and do extensive reading and research. Due to the amount of time spent standing and/or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for Light work.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board and local policy on evaluation of personnel.
