Job summary

Great Hearts Invictus Lower School in Helotes, TX, is seeking an ESL Teaching Assistant to support students in both general and special education settings. The role works under certified ESL and Special Education teachers to provide academic support across campus.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small-group support, adapting materials, and maintaining a positive learning environment. The position requires a high school diploma or higher, with preferred ESAI certifications and related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher; associates degree preferred.
• Experience in special student services and/or ESL/ELL is preferred.
• Educational Aide certification I, II, or III is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports students in small groups or 1:1.
• Assists students with assignments, homework, and projects.
• Adapts materials and provides modifications to aid learning.
• Helps students understand and follow classroom rules.
• Provides general clerical support for the Special Student Services Team.
• Attends meetings and trainings.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area; fosters a positive learning environment.

The assistant will work to support students in all settings on campus under the direction of and in collaboration with the certified Special Education/ESL teachers and General Education teachers.
