Great Hearts Academies seeks a Part-Time ESL Teaching Assistant for K-5 at the Live Oak Lower School. You will support emergent bilingual students by implementing ESL-certified lesson plans and assisting in small-group ELAR instruction under supervision.

Your role includes accommodations, materials preparation, and involvement in annual assessments, all within the ESL classroom. A commitment to bilingual learners and campus collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required).
• Experience: Knowledge of or past work with students K-12 preferred.
• Interest in working with emergent bilingual students.

Responsibilities

• Implements lesson plans created by an ESL-certified teacher that provide support for emergent bilinguals with their academic English development.
• Assists the ESL Coordinator / Teacher with preparing materials for daily small group ELAR lessons with emergent bilinguals.
• Provides support with individualized accommodations for identified emergent bilingual students as directed.
• Planning of annual and reclassification assessments for emergent bilingual students.
• All teaching and support will take place in the ESL classroom only.

Position: ESL Teaching Assistant (K-5) - Part-TimeLocation: Great Hearts Live Oak Lower School (7653 North Loop 1604 EastLive Oak, TX 78233)Reports to: ESL CoordinatorFLSA: Part-time; hourlyThe ESL Title III Part-time Teaching Assistant:Assists the ESL Coordinator and ESL Teacher in adhering to federal administrative requirements of the English as a Second Language Program.Assists the ESL Coordinator lead teacher in ensuring that the physical safety, emotional, social, and educational needs of the students are met.Works under the supervision of an ESL Certified teacher.Works in coordination with all teachers, staff, and administration on campus.Teaching and supporting:Implements lesson plans created by an ESL-certified teacher that provide support for emergent bilinguals with their academic English development.Assists the ESL Coordinator / Teacher with preparing materials for daily small group ELAR lessons with emergent bilinguals.Provides support with individualized accommodations for identified emergent bilingual students as directed.Planning of annual and reclassification assessments for emergent bilingual students.All teaching and support will take place in the ESL classroom only.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required)Experience:Knowledge of or past work with students K-12 preferred.Interest in working with emergent bilingual students.The position is funded through Title III Grant Funds.
