Job summary

EF Education First Ltd. is hiring an ESL Teacher for Summer 2027 in Pasadena, CA. The role focuses on delivering EF’s structured English language program, planning lessons, and maintaining high student satisfaction.

You will teach weekday classes, manage the classroom, assess progress, and participate in meetings. A TEFL certificate and fluent English are required, along with the right to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent experience.
• TEFL certificate or equivalent.
• Complete fluency in English.
• Experience in the field of education.
• Attend training before your contract commences.
• Have the right to live and work in the country of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teaching classes every weekday following the EF methodology.
• Lesson planning and preparation before each class.
• Classroom management.
• Facilitating testing during the course, including marking tests.
• Monitoring daily attendance and keeping up-to-date records and paperwork.
• Attending all teacher meetings.
• Monitoring student progress and personal goals to help them in their language improvement.
• Ensuring the EF behavior code is always followed by students and informing management immediately if there are any issues or problems.
• Responding to problems and emergency situations should they arise.

Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 / hour

(housing provided as a taxable fringe benefit on a limited basis)
