Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an English as a Second Language teacher for grades K-8. This long-term substitute role is 0.9 FTE (0.5 FTE at Chittick Elementary and 0.4 FTE at Orchard Gardens Pilot MS) with an immediate start through the last day of the school year.

Responsibilities include providing ESL instruction to multilingual learners, collaborating with content teachers, supporting language development across domains, and assisting with ELL assessments and transitions as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts ESL teaching license required.
• Ability to meet standards and work with multilingual learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide ESL instruction to Multilingual Learners identified as English Learners.
• Collaborate with content teachers to align language development across all four domains.
• Assist with ACCESS administration and ELL student transitions as needed.
• Deliver lessons aligned to WIDA ELD standards and differentiate for varying proficiency levels.
