Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan ESL instruction with clear learning goals to promote L2 proficiency
• Measure student learning with formative and summative assessments
• Create a well-managed, safe classroom environment conducive to learning
• Incorporate innovative instructional strategies, including technology use
• Understand and apply research-based best practices in second-language acquisition
• Maintain EL students’ progress documentation (reports, forms)
• Collaborate with content teachers to implement effective SEI strategies
• Coordinate with Special Education staff to align with IEPs and 504 Plans
• Differentiate instruction to support ELs across language proficiency levels
• Know and apply WIDA framework and yearly WIDA ACCESS/Screener procedures
• Communicate openly with parents/guardians, staff, and students
• Participate in team meetings and professional development
