Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools seeks an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for Folwell Elementary to support students in grades K-5 during the 2026-2027 school year. The role emphasizes language development, literacy, and access to the core curriculum with a focus on newcomers and diverse learners.

The teacher will implement Minnesota standards, collaborate with staff, and participate in the district Improvement Agenda while maintaining a 1.0 FTE (42 weeks) schedule and fulfilling licensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Prior successful teaching experience in an urban, multicultural setting.
• Demonstrated ongoing professional development through coursework or job-embedded staff development.
• Master's or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction aligned to state and district standards.
• Use diverse assessment strategies to inform instructional decisions.
• Collaborate with peers to develop and implement best practices for diverse learners.
• Support newcomers with targeted language and literacy instruction.
