Job summary

Racine Unified School District is seeking dedicated teachers who will instruct students to the best of their ability within the adopted curriculum and collaborate with building principals to continually improve instructional techniques.

Teachers participate in committees, uphold classroom discipline, supervise school property, and maintain punctual attendance for sessions. They will engage with parents and comply with district policies to support student success.

Qualifications

• Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction teaching license.
• Bachelor degree required.
• English as a Second Language license (ESL) referenced in requirements.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students to the best of their ability within the curriculum plan adopted by the Board.
• Participate actively in committees dealing with planning, research, curriculum, public relations or other professional activities.
• Supervise and care for furniture, books, supplies and equipment; instruct students in proper use and report abuses.
• Maintain classroom control and keep the principal informed for assistance when necessary.
• Manage and supervise all students and accept assignments outside the classroom as directed by the principal.
• Open and close school sessions punctually at designated hours.
• Familiarize themselves with Board rules and regulations and enforce them.
• Closely observe pupils to identify defects hindering learning and report to the principal.
• Prepare lesson plans, records and reports as required by the principal or central office.
• Cooperate and communicate with parents in the best interests of students.
