Job summary

Racine Unified School District is seeking substitute teachers for the 26/27 school year. You will be placed daily in unfilled assignments, with potential longer-term placements and some time in a support staff role.

Instructors supervise and train students across regular and special education settings using prepared lesson plans. Must hold a valid teaching credential or Wisconsin 3-year substitute permit, with a Bachelor’s Degree and completion of the district’s Substitute Training Workshop.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching credential or Wisconsin 3-year substitute teacher permit.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Successful completion of Substitute Training Workshop offered by the District.
• Credentials must be current.
• Must be hired by the Racine Unified School District.

Responsibilities

• Place daily in unfilled assignments with possible longer-term placements.
• Instruct, supervise and train students with a wide variety of needs.
• Carry out the absent teacher’s prepared lesson plans and essential functions.
• Duties may include traveling to multiple district buildings as scheduled.
• Substitutes are required to stay for the entire workday.
