Job summary

EF Language Abroad's Tarrytown, NY campus is seeking ESL teachers for immediate openings and the 2027 Winter Term, starting in January. Varied schedules including mornings, afternoons, and partial weeks are available, with curriculum and resources provided to support quality instruction.

Ideal candidates hold a TEFL certificate (CELTA or equivalent preferred); experience with TOEFL/IELTS/Cambridge is a plus.

Qualifications

• TEFL certificate or CELTA-equivalent preferred, ESL teaching credentials.
• Experience with standardized ESL exams (TOEFL/IELTS/Cambridge) is a plus.
• Willingness to teach on a variety of schedules including mornings/afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Teach scheduled contact hours as scheduled by Academic Management.
• Provide high-quality classes using EF blended learning program.
• Complete administrative work for classes in a timely manner.
• Prepare materials and resources for each course (handouts, quizzes, tests, assignments).
• Help students with queries and communicate with appropriate departments.
• Participate in teacher meetings and staff development activities.

EF Language Abroad is currently recruiting ESL teachers to teach at our Tarrytown, New York campus. We are looking for candidates available to start for immediate openings and also for our upcoming 2027 Winter Term, starting in early January. Special consideration will be afforded to those applicants looking for long-term employment. We offer a variety of different teaching schedules, including mornings and afternoons, along with partial-week schedules. Resources and curriculum are provided.

Your responsibilities

• Teach scheduled contact hours as scheduled by Academic Management
• Provide high-quality classes using our EF blended learning program
• Complete the necessary administrative work required for classes in a timely manner
• Prepare materials and resources relevant to your classes, including handouts, quizzes, tests, and assignments as needed for each course
• Help students with queries they may have and communicate this with the appropriate departments
• Actively participate in teacher meetings and all staff development activities

Successful candidates will have the following

• TEFL certificate (CELTA or equivalent preferred)
• Experience with standardized ESL exams, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge is a plus

Reports to: Director of Studies

Job Type: Full-time, hourly

Hourly Pay: Contact Hours $21 - $24.00, Administrative Hours $18.45

EF New York provides ongoing professional development to our instructors in the field of English language teaching. Additionally, EF will sponsor up to three modules of the TKT dependent upon duration of employment.
