Job summary

New Braunfels ISD is seeking an instructional support assistant to help teachers in preparing instructional materials and managing classroom activities in a typical school day.

You will work under the supervision of a certified teacher, assist with inventories and displays, and help supervise students during lunch and playtimes. A high school diploma or GED and college coursework are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and 48 semester hours of college coursework.
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Work under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teachers, administration and office staff in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment and instructional materials; plan, organize and make workroom supplies, paper goods, and materials readily available to staff.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small group.
• Supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
