Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a Coordinating Teacher-English as a Second Language to support ESL instruction across campuses. The role designs and delivers professional development for ESL and content-area teachers and serves as a liaison to inform teaching of English language learners.

Located in Cary, NC, this exempt, hybrid telework position requires a NC ESL license, a bachelor's in education or related field, and several years of ESL teaching and professional learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL or related field.
• Three years ESL teaching experience in a public school setting.
• Experience designing and delivering professional learning.
• Other combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides supplemental support to ESL teachers, with at least one school visit annually.
• Liaises between ESL and other departments to implement equitable language supports and professional learning.
• Designs and delivers professional learning with the ESL team; reports progress to Senior Admin & Director.
• Maintains open communication with other departments to inform teaching of English learners and curricular supports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
