Academy District 20 seeks an ESL Specialist to design and deliver learning experiences for students with diverse language needs. The role supports K-12 ESL programs district-wide, ensuring alignment with Colorado Academic Standards and district policies.

The ideal candidate will hold a CLDE or LDE endorsement, be eligible for Colorado teacher licensure, and collaborate with families, teachers, and administrators to promote academic, civic, social, and emotional success for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Must have or be eligible for CLDE or LDE endorsement (Colorado).
• Colorado Dept. of Education licensing: Initial and Professional credentials are required.

Responsibilities

• Assess English proficiency using WIDA Screener, ACCESS, and Alternate ACCESS.
• Provide teachers with materials and background information for ESL students.
• Demonstrate expertise in second language acquisition and literacy development.
• Maintain accurate records of ESL testing and student plans.
• Communicate with building contacts and classroom teachers regularly.
• Deliver ESL training to staff and support district programs.
