Job summary

Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas is seeking an ESL instructor to promote and implement English language classes for adult refugees and immigrants, both in person at Wyandotte County and via remote sessions. The role includes teaching, attendance, enrollment, and student record-keeping to support the ELT program.

The position requires classroom teaching experience, a degree in education and TESOL/TEFL, and English fluency; experience with refugees is preferred.

Qualifications

• Classroom teaching experience; early literacy preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in education and/or TESOL/TEFL certification preferred.
• Experience working with refugees desired.
• Fluency in English required; another language desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL classes (pre-literate to intermediate) for adult refugees.
• Assist ELT Program Coordinator with enrollment and attendance.
• Maintain student records and reports in required databases.
• Coordinate with volunteers and train tutors in curriculum and resources.
• Support access to ESL classes via in-person and remote sessions.
