Job summary

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking an English as a Second Language (ESL) Assistant for San Diego High School. This part-time role supports the ESL instructional program in classrooms and pull-out settings.

Work location is San Diego High School, 1405 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101, with a 10-month schedule at 20 hours per week. Salary follows the PARASalary Schedule; bilingual positions may receive a 5% differential where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and a passing score on the district CAPE or an Associate’s degree or 48+ eligible college units.
• Completion of post-high school courses in psychology, early childhood development, elementary education, or related field is desirable.
• Note: related education and experience must be clearly represented in the application materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist ESL instruction in classrooms and in pull-out settings.
• Support students and collaborate with teachers to implement ESL strategies.
