Job summary

Wake Technical Community College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) within the College and Career Readiness Division. Classes may be held in seated or virtual formats, with adaptive instruction to prepare students for college and careers.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree, native English fluency, and the ability to create engaging, contextualized lesson plans using available technology. Experience in adult ESL and online teaching is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Must have native-like fluency in English.
• Ability to develop and teach original ESL lesson plans with contextualized instruction and technology.
• Digital literacy with internet use and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assess student needs and create daily ESL lesson plans.
• Deliver instruction in seated and virtual formats using LMS platforms.
• Manage attendance and documentation and communicate with students, staff and supervisor.
• Foster community and engagement through collaborative learning and ongoing contact with students.
• Collaborate with program staff to identify student needs and support transition to college and careers.
