Job summary

Sarasota County Schools is seeking a dedicated Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Resource Teacher for North Port High School. The role supports students with disabilities through specially designed instruction, IEP implementation, and collaboration with general education staff.

Hours are 7.5 per day for 10 contract months, with a focus on developing IEPs, monitoring progress, and ensuring safe, inclusive classroom environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate in Exceptional Student Education and Endorsement, as required.
• Meet certification and highly qualified requirement for core content area(s), at appropriate level.

Responsibilities

• Develop IEPs with present levels of performance, annual goals, and accommodations.
• Collect and monitor student performance data and adjust instruction.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and service providers.
• Provide specially designed instruction aligned with IEP goals and state standards.
• Schedule and facilitate IEP meetings and reevaluation reviews with families and staff.
• Participate in eligibility and manifestation determinations as required.
• Create a safe, engaging, and differentiated learning environment.
