Job summary

Sarasota County Schools seeks an Exceptional Student Education Teacher at Gulf Gate School to support students with disabilities under the IEP framework. The role emphasizes forming individualized plans, collecting progress data, and coordinating with classroom teams to ensure compliant services.

You will design and deliver specially designed instruction aligned to IEP goals, monitor progress, and participate in eligibility and manifestations determinations as required by IDEA and district

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate in Exceptional Student Education and Endorsement, as required.
• Meet certification and highly qualified requirement for core content area(s), at appropriate level.

Responsibilities

• Develop appropriate quality IEPs with present levels, goals, and accommodations.
• Collect and monitor student performance data to inform instruction and goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and service providers to design instruction.
• Coordinate scheduling and facilitation of IEP meetings and reevaluation reviews with parents and staff.
• Assist with transition planning and timely documentation to ensure compliance.
