Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning, behavioral, developmental, and/or emotional needs is preferred.

Job Description SUMMARY:

The ESE Coordinator is responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This position works collaboratively with students, families, general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers to promote academic achievement, social-emotional development, independence, and successful participation in the school community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Develop and implement individualized instructional plans based on students’ IEP goals, strengths, needs, and learning styles.
  • Provide specialized instruction and appropriate accommodations, modifications, and interventions.
  • Monitor and document student progress toward academic, behavioral, and functional goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely IEP documentation and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and student success in the least restrictive environment.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational needs.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use research-based instructional strategies and appropriate assistive technology to support diverse learners.
  • Address behavioral and social-emotional needs using positive behavior supports and appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Work with school counselors, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other specialists as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with federal, state, and local special education laws, regulations, and school policies.
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing training related to special education practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
