School Faculty - Other - St. Louis Catholic Covenant School

St. Louis Covenant Catholic School, located in Pinecrest, Florida is looking to hire a full-time Exceptional Student Education Coordinator for the 2026-27 school year. The ESE Coordinator collaborates with administration, faculty, staff, and parents to support the needs of the whole child. The coordinator will oversee the school’s Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program, coordinate therapies and related services, collaborate with the admissions team on new student screenings, and ensure that each student is supported according to his or her unique strengths and needs. The ESE Coordinator performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Write, implement, monitor, and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for ESE students based on assessments, strengths, and identified needs.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant ILP documentation as required by the Archdiocese of Miami (ADOM).
  • Evaluate, interpret, and analyze student assessments, professional evaluations, and supporting documentation to determine appropriate accommodations and services.
  • Collaborate on new-student screenings and provide recommendations for placement, support services, and learning accommodations.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee in‑school therapies and related services for eligible students.
  • Serve as a liaison with local school districts regarding the development and coordination of IEP‑related documentation for students, as applicable.
  • Organize, prepare, and lead staffing meetings with faculty, parents/guardians, and the guidance counselor to ensure student needs are appropriately supported.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, the intervention team, and school staff to provide academic support, accommodations, and whole‑child interventions.
  • Meet with parents/guardians regularly to review ILPs, communicate student progress, and address concerns in a timely and supportive manner.
  • Support students in utilizing assistive technology tools (including iPads and related applications) to enhance learning and growth.
  • Manage standardized testing accommodation requests and collaborate with the Testing Chairperson to ensure proper implementation.
  • Schedule and oversee the implementation of the Title I tutoring program.
  • Represent the school at appropriate conferences, workshops, and professional development opportunities related to ESE and student support services.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and tact when working with students, families, faculty, and visitors, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with parents/guardians/families and faculty that foster trust, communication, and partnership.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Master’s degree in Special Education.
  • Florida Department of Education Professional Certificate in Exceptional Student Education in grades K-12 preferred, or in the process of applying (may be considered with statement of eligibility).
  • Experience with teaching multi‑grade level students with varying cognitive/ developmental exceptionalities or disabilities, with proficiency in effective strategies.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
  • Fully committed, supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
