Job summary

Volusia County Schools seeks an ESE Behavioral Teacher at Deltona Middle School. You will support students in grades 6-7 under FS 1012.53, implementing IEPs and BIPs, and ensuring compliance with state laws and district policies.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction with prescribed materials, maintaining records, administering medications as needed, and collaborating with general education teachers. Requires a Florida Educator Certificate in ESE and relevant endorsements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an educational field as defined by FAC 6A-1.0503.
• Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education or equivalent.
• Endorsements in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Gifted, Orientation and Mobility, Pre-K Disabilities, and Severe/Profound Disabilities.
• Reading endorsement and crisis intervention certification where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Help students become proficient in challenging standards and meet state/local requirements.
• Teach diligently using prescribed materials and technology-based instruction.
• Keep records and submit reports required by law and the school board.
• Maintain a valid Florida educator’s certificate per rules.
• Deliver instruction and manage district property as required by the principal.
• Administer prescription medication as assigned and per policy.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Develop IEP goals and monitor progress for students on IEPs/BIPs.
