Simplicity Credit Union is seeking an Escrow Specialist to handle real estate transactions, establish escrow accounts, manage funds, and process settlements in accordance with policy. The role may be based in Marshfield or Stevens Point and requires attention to detail and strong communication with members and staff.

The position offers a base pay starting around $20.49 per hour with potential to earn up to $30.74 per hour, plus a company bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Payout insurance bills, PMI, and property taxes for mortgage loans with escrow.
• Coordinate with tax servicing agencies and insurance agents for escrow accuracy.
• Review escrow analyses for accuracy before mailing to members and answer member questions.
• Maintain and update all escrow information in the core software (transfers, analyses, YTD).
• Research and update records to identify property tax delinquencies for non-escrowed loans.
• Act as a neutral liaison and mitigate risk per company policy.
• Foster collaboration across departments and uphold company values.

Position Summary

The Escrow Specialist is r esponsible for handling real estate transactions by establishing new escrow accounts, managing funds, processing documents for closings, and completing settlements in accordance with established policies and procedures. Acts as a neutral liaison between file parties, adheres to company policy, and monitors and mitigates risk to the company.

This position will always project a positive and friendly image for the credit union through interactions with members and co-workers. This position can work out of our Marshfield or Stevens Point branch.

• Payout insurance bills, Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI), and property taxes for mortgage loans with escrow.
• Work with tax servicing agencies and insurance agents for accuracy and escrow payouts.
• Review escrow analysis for accuracy prior to being mailed to members as well as having the ability to answer any member questions.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating all escrow related information within the core software system, including but not limited to escrow transfers, escrow analyses, and year to date (YTD) information, as well as other escrow maintenance, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date
• Responsible for conducting the appropriate research required by each request to make necessary updates and identify property tax delinquencies, primarily for non-escrowed loans.
• Acts as a neutral liaison between file parties, adheres to company policy, and monitors and mitigates risk to the company.
• Reinforce continuous collaboration and respectful communication between all departments by promoting strong, positive, and productive working relationships through the commitment to the company’s core values, vision and mission statements.

Requirements

• High school education or GED and three to five years of similar or related experience.
• A high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations, even under pressure.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to details.
• Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Service-oriented; a team player.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of mortgage loan products and procedures.
• Believes in own capabilities and knowledge to affect positive outcomes and even succeed where others may not and demonstrates that attitude in performing day-to-day activities.

Compensation:

Starting base pay of$20.49 per hourbased on experience, with earning potential of up to $30.74 per hour.

*The final offer will be based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.

This position is also eligible for a yearly company performance bonus payout.
