Job summary

Energy Services of America Corporation is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team in Huntington, WV. This full-time, in-person role supports day-to-day accounting functions and assists with financial reporting and internal controls.

Strong Excel skills and GAAP knowledge are preferred, with room for growth across ESA’s subsidiaries. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, competitive salary, and opportunities for advancement within a growing public

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post routine journal entries.

• Maintain organized financial records and assist with clerical duties.
• Complete other accounting-related duties as assigned.

ESA is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This is a full-time, in-person role that supports day-to-day accounting functions and assists with financial reporting and internal control processes. We welcome applicants ranging from early-career accounting professionals to those with a few years of experience — this role offers meaningful room to grow, with a path toward higher-level accounting positions and opportunities to work across ESA's subsidiaries.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, solid Excel skills, and a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Position Details

• Job Title: Staff Accountant
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Location: In-Person (75 W 3rd Ave, Huntington, WV 25701)
• Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience
• Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/ Corporate Controller

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (required)
• 0–3 years of accounting experience (candidates at all experience levels within this range are encouraged to apply)
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities
