Job description

We are EnerMech, a specialist service company that delivers safe, integrated solutions for complex energy projects. For over 50 years, we have supported our clients across the world with unrivalled expertise, equipment, and technology throughout the entire asset lifecycle - both offshore and onshore.

Operating through our global business lines of Energy Solutions, Infrastructure & Industrial Solutions, and Lifting Solutions, we provide a broad range of specialist services including cranes, lifting, fluid power, training, equipment rental, pipeline, process, subsea, and valve services.

At EnerMech, we are driven by operational excellence, innovation, and technical expertise, delivering value through integrated solutions that reduce risk, improve efficiency, and enhance performance for our customers worldwide.

Role Overview
  • Purpose: lead complex or non-routine engineering within an assigned discipline, providing reliable technical delivery, independent checking and coaching across relevant ES and IIS scopes
  • Own the technical integrity, quality, schedule and traceability of assigned deliverables, including calculations, procedures, drawings and equipment specifications
  • Review and check engineering deliverables within demonstrated competence and approve outputs only within formally delegated authority
  • Provide technical direction to assigned engineers and develop graduate capability
  • Escalate high-risk, novel or out-of-authority decisions and technical deviations through the approved technical governance process
Responsibilities
  • Develop discipline calculations, technical procedures, drawings, P&IDs and engineering content for work packs; establish assumptions, design basis, applicable codes and acceptance criteria. Use approved and validated calculation tools and understand their limitations
  • Independently check others' work within demonstrated competence, document review findings and confirm closure before authorized release; maintain separation of preparation, checking and approval
  • Lead engineering for assigned ES and IIS scopes. Depending on discipline, these may include pipeline pre-commissioning, pigging, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying, nitrogen and leak testing, flange management, umbilicals, and inspection and integrity services
  • Act as the principal technical contact for assigned scopes, coordinating technical discussions, clarifications and agreed actions with clients, Project Managers and operations. Resolve technical queries within delegated authority and assess changes through management of change
  • Specify equipment and engineering mobilization requirements; support pre-mobilization trials, function testing and readiness reviews with maintenance, workshop and logistics teams
  • Provide technical leadership during site execution, working with the Project Manager and site supervisor to confirm compliance with approved procedures, resolve technical issues and assess proposed changes within delegated authority
  • Lead the engineering contribution to assigned tenders, consolidating methods, equipment requirements, estimates, resource needs, assumptions, exclusions and technical risks with commercial and project teams
  • Apply EnerMech and client quality, health, safety and environmental requirements; lead relevant technical risk reviews and resolve engineering nonconformities
  • Coach graduates and engineers in calculations, procedure writing, codes and engineering judgment; contribute evidence to competency development and assessment through the established process
  • Maintain controlled technical records, capture closeout lessons and contribute reusable procedures, templates and verified calculation methods to the global framework
  • Plan and coordinate engineering activities, deliverables, resources and interfaces to support agreed project milestones; report progress, dependencies and delivery risks
  • Develop and monitor engineering estimates and allocated budgets, identify variances and recommend improvements to support project profitability without compromising safety or technical requirements
  • Prepare and review technical requisitions, evaluate supplier technical submissions and resolve technical clarifications with procurement and vendors
  • Recommend engineering resources and competency requirements, allocate assigned engineering tasks and identify specialist support needs
  • Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines and service lines to ensure an integrated and executable technical solution
  • Provide verified technical progress records, completion evidence and scope-change information to support project reporting, variations and invoicing
Requirements
  • Experience: minimum 7 years of relevant engineering experience, supported by evidence of complex technical delivery, checking and mentoring
  • Qualifications: relevant engineering degree, including Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Ocean Engineering according to discipline, plus demonstrated application
  • Travel: office, workshop and onshore / offshore project support as required by assigned projects
